The whole area of ​​ Miyun Reservoir is 188 square kilometers, 137,000 acres of water surface with the depth of 40 to 60 meters. The Reservoir is divided into three parts with a total storage capacity of 4.317 billion cubic meters, equivalent to 67 Ming Tombs Reservoir and 150 Kunming Lake.
